As a first-time ER&L attendee and someone new to the field of librarianship, I was extremely impressed with the featured tracks of scholarship that the conference presentations offered. I attended the conference virtually, and the atmosphere of the online platform was so engaging that there were times when I felt like I could have been on-site in Austin. There were numerous opportunities to interact with presenters, conference attendees, and conference volunteers.
Presenters brought many ideas to the conference that represented important issues current to the field. Different presentation styles and topics that were covered at ER&L offered lots of opportunities for me to feel inspired by the dedication of the presenters. All of the presentations that I watched were excellent. I was consistently admiring the amount of creativity and effort that had gone into building each presentation. Further, there were topics covered at the conference that were directly related to workflows that I am doing day-to-day.
The conference concluded with me gaining new insights and perspectives about the field. For a new librarian like me, ER&L was a wonderful experience to be learning from such brilliant peers in the field. For the future, I intend for ER&L to become an important reoccurring professional event for me each year.
